  • What do fat dissolving injections do?

    In simple words they are injectable bile salts, the same bile salts that our body uses to emulsify fats. They are safe and are a naturally occurring substance in our own digestive system.

    How our bodies deal with fat?

    When we have a meal, the fat is in our food is broken down in the stomach and it goes through the duodenum and the upper part of the small bowel, where naturally occurring bile salts are introduced by our digestive system into the bowel from the liver. From there they are concentrated in the gallbladder which then squeezes them into the bowel. These bile salts are called fat emulsifiers as they break the fat down to its molecular components.

    So how do fat dissolving injections work?

    When injected in fat cells, the injection will cause injury to the fat cells selectively, and those fat cells will then be broken down and the fat excreted. So for people with good skin tone who have superficial pockets of fat, injecting these drugs into the fat over a two month period (after some early initial swelling) will lead to a visible reduction of fat in that area.
